The Willis Wedding…

Ashton & Kendyl are one of those couples that make you believe in “happily ever after”. When I first met them, they both seemed a little quite. However, I quickly learned that their “shyness” was just part of them being wise beyond their years. I truly enjoyed getting to know this couple and their families. Their summer wedding was beyond beautiful and I’m thankful that I was asked to capture it.

Tifanie + Garrett = engaged

What a neat story…the farmer’s daughter finds a farmer of her own

Tifanie is a true country girl, raised in the south. She fell for a true country boy with sweet southern charm. We spoke over the phone and she told me about her ideas for her wedding day…on the farm, in a barn, sweet tea & boots in the sand…I love these idea’s and after meeting Tifanie & Garrett…I know it fits them perfectly! I can hardly wait for their Sweet September Wedding

They decided to have their engagement pictures done in St. Augustine…some downtown but most at the beach…Tifanie loves the beach:)

Garrett was a good sport and put up with our many crazy requests…balloons, rose petals, and all

Mallory & Brad are getting married!

I’m so excited to share this engagement session with you. After many failed attempts, we finally held their session and decided to shoot…rain or shine! Unfortunately, it was mostly RAIN but Mallory and Brad were troopers and didn’t let the yucky weather “rain on their parade” (OK…total cheese, but I had to say it…LOL). We met in Gainesville at the Baughman Center and shot around Lake Alice. The rain poured, but luckily God gave us some breaks here and there :) Then we headed to the UF’s Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, but as soon as we got there the bottom fell out and the rain came crashing down. We worked with what shelter we could find and with the light that was provided. All and all I think Mallory & Brad’s pictures turned out awesome…no amount of rain or gray sky could dim the light that shined so brightly from their eyes. They were truly a pleasure to work with and I can’t wait to photograph their beautiful beach wedding later this month!

You can’t tell from this shot, but the weather was so yucky…hot, humid, and rainy! Don’t they look great? There’s always beauty in the middle of a storm

The Griffis Wedding

I’m so happy for this couple. Laura and Dusty have dated for years. They made it through the trials of high school and college and now they are husband and wife :) God has sent me some amazing couples to photograph. I’m so thankful that I was able to document their wedding day for them. The weather was pretty much perfect, even with the afternoon summer shower that seems to bless almost every couple I’ve photographed. There’s something about a little rain on your wedding day

Laura was a beautiful bride and Dusty was a charming groom…together they made a picture perfect couple…and my camera adored them. Here are a few of my favorites:

Another Sneak Peek :)

Whew…we just returned home from the Cayman Islands and now we are heading to Orlando (: We will be finished with our “summer travels” and will return back to work on Monday. I have so many sessions to finish up editing…but until then, here’s another little peek-a-boo from a lovely engagement session I did in St. Augustine with Tifanie & Garrett. What a precious couple! Truly genuine people with sweet spirits and southern charm:)

I’m heading to the Cayman Islands to shoot a fabulous wedding, but before I leave I just wanted to share this little sneak peek with you. Ashton & Kendyl are such a sweet couple and their wedding was BEAUTIFUL…I can’t wait to share more but for now here is a little teaser

The Rhoden Wedding

WOO HOO!!! The 2010 wedding season is in full swing. I’m so excited about the weddings I will be photographing this year and I can’t wait to share the images with you here on my blog. So let’s get things started with Brittany & Ryan…Mr. & Mrs. Rhoden! Their wedding day was perfect. The weather was nice, the bright blue sky held no clouds and the occasional light breeze provided some relief to those wearing tuxes :). Every detail was thought out. Brittany’s color choice of orange & pink created a fresh and fun summer feel. The bride & groom made my job easy…both are beautiful people inside and out, together they make for a pretty amazing couple. They are so in love and it shows on camera:)

Brittany & Keith…the e-session

My, oh my how time flies. Is it really May? I can’t believe how quickly 2010 is moving. It seems like just yesterday I was meeting with a soon to be bride, discussing her plans of a “get away” wedding. Now, we are only 2 months away from the “island event”. I can’t even begin to explain how excited I am to document Brittany & Keith’s destination wedding:) But before they get married, they have to be engaged…which is what this post is really about…the engagement session. All I an say is “what a cool couple”. So, I know that “cool” is an overused word, but I happen to like it…and I happen to think that this couple is pretty “cool”… and fun… and fabulous. Not to mention…beautiful. I had a great time photographing them and getting to know them. Many laughs were shared and giggles filled the air, but that’s to be expected. Love does that sort of thing you know…fills the air with giggles:)

Dusty & Laura are getting married!!!

Never a dull moment. I can tell just by hanging out with this beautiful couple for just a few hours, that there’s never a dull moment when they’re both around. Our session was quite an adventure. One that involved (carefully) chasing beautiful light while (briefly) going down one way streets in the wrong direction, and (quick) wardrobe changes in moving vehicles. I promise, Mom, we were super safe :) I’m sure on the inside, Dusty was praying to make it out of the session in one piece but on the outside, he remained relatively calm and didn’t seem to miss a beat. All and all we had a blast and it made for one unforgettable day. We began our session in downtown St. Augustine and we ended our session on the beach at the location where Dusty asked Laura to be his wife. Laura’s eyes sparkled as she told me the story of his proposal…glow sticks in the sand spelling out “will you marry me?”. Pretty creative, huh? I thought so :) Another benefit of being a wedding photographer…meeting great people, with great stories, and helping them document great moments they’ll never forget.

Brittany + Ryan = engaged!

Engagement sessions are always so much fun to shoot. Not only does it give me the opportunity to “get to know” the couple better, but it allows me to witness love in action:) You see, “Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.” - 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. It warms my heart to witness such love and I have to say in getting to know Brittany and Ryan, I was able to see this type of love in action. What a pleasure it was to photograph them. We began our journey at Flagler College in downtown St. Augustine and worked our way to the fort area, to the bench where Ryan proposed to Brittany. This is the same place Ryan’s father asked his mother to marry him many years ago :) What a neat story guys. Thank you for letting me be a part of it.

Here’s where it happened…the famous bench where Brittany said, “YES”!

Ryan serves in our United States Air Force so we thought the “airplane graveyard” would be a cool spot to shoot. I’m so glad we did. Loved all the images from this location and I think I earned some brownie points with the groom:)
