Love never fails.

A few years ago, God opened a door that allowed me to meet a very special young lady…Miss Holly Best. I instantly fell in love with her geniune smile, giving spirit, and shining love for Jesus. We had an opportunity to chat and share our testimony’s with one another. We spoke of God’s GRACE and unfailing LOVE. We shared stories of mistakes…and of God’s continued FAITHFULNESS. It was a wonderful time of fellowship and I knew that Holly was destined for greatness.

I was estatic to hear about her engagement to Michael…an equally amazing person…and I was honored when she asked me to photograph their wedding. I love a good love story…Holly and Michael’s began many years ago as they “dated” in middle school, then went their seperate ways, and later found themselves back where it all began. Love never fails.

The Kunze Wedding

It’s been awhile since my last post. Life has been hectic and it seems my poor little blog is the last thing that receives attention these days. The past few months have been challenging to say the least. Between some minor health issues and some major computer issues…I’ve been a little overwhelmed. I’m so thankful for understanding clients and for a gracious God. I’m seeking God’s will as I make some important decisions about my career in the photography business. I know that HE has a plan for me…just as HE has a plan for each and every one of us…just like His plan for Loren & Brandon to meet, fall in love, and become husband & wife.

I met Loren & Brandon and I instantly fell in love with this couple. Their passion and excitement for life is contagious. They love to laugh, have a good time, and they love football…Auburn football to be exact When I think about how God has a plan for each us I can’t help but think about how God’s plan for Loren & Brandon has brought them where they are today. I’m excited to see where HIS plan will take them next and I’m happy to finally share my favorite photos with you from their special day ♥

One sweet couple…

I’ve known Melissa for awhile now. Her brother and I went to high school together and last year she was my daughter’s math teacher. She is a sugary sweet person…really…that sweet. She helped Hailey after school with her math homework and always went beyond the call of duty for “her kids”. I had the pleasure of photographing she and her husband right before Christmas last year, but never got a chance to blog their session. I’d like to share that with you today:) It was a great photo shoot and I’d hate to think that these pictures never made it into cyberspace

Mine on Mondays…Ryan turns 14!

That’s right folks…I’m a mother of a 14 year old! Seriously…where did all that time go? I feel like it was literally yesterday…well maybe last week…that I was bringing Ryan home from the hospital. I remember thinking “he is SO small”…I was scared to death. Afraid to sleep, afraid to leave him for one minute, afraid that I was not good enough to nurture something so precious. Now he’s not “so small”…he is a TEENAGER!!! And I still have moments…moments when I’m still afraid to sleep, afraid to leave him for one minute, afraid that I am not good enough to nurture something so precious. Then I’m reminded of who is really in charge of this crazy thing called life. I’m reminded that in every situation, every circumstance, every second of every day…our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ is ALWAYS in control. I’ve found peace in knowing that It helps that Ryan is truly an amazing kid. He has a huge heart and when he puts his mind to something…he is unstoppable.

It’s become a tradition of ours to always go to Red Lobster on Ryan’s birthday. It all started because of a crazy addiction to their “cheesy biscuits”. Ryan loves those things. This year we went on our traditional Red Lobster outing…but we brought friends! Some really great ones

This started a little “wager”…Dylan let Ryan smash his head into the cake…for a fee of $10…and Ryan paid him! I’ll never understand boys…

The boys…

Ryan and Mackenzie have been friends since before birth…literally…Kim and I were pregnant at the same time and we would hold our bellies up to one another and let the little ones inside have “conversations”. OK…so maybe that was too much information. I promise it didn’t seem stupid 14 years ago.

Our babies are only 2 months apart. Mackenzie decided to come early…really early. Can you believe she only weighed 2 lbs when she was born? She’s a tough cookie. I know God has huge plans for her ♥

Snips & Snails & Puppy Dog Tails…

Snips and snails and puppy dog tails, that’s what little boys are made of!!! Really?…not this group of young men! It’s more like: Energy & Laughter & Happily Ever After Well, maybe not the “happily” part…at least not all the time:)

The two families that I would like to share with you today are both very special to me. I’ve had the privilege of getting to know the “moms” very well and they are both extraordinary women. They decided to hold their sessions back to back because the boys had ball games immediately after their sessions with me. Isn’t that how life goes? You just shuttle from one event to the next:) But it worked out great and allowed us to get some cute shots of the “two best pals” together:)

I was going through my file folders on my computer this afternoon and I realized that there were several sessions in November & December that I never got a chance to blog. The Holidays are always a crazy time for everyone, including photographers:) I had some wonderful Holiday sessions this year and I would like to share one with you now. Yes, I know…in some of the photos the streets are lined with Christmas decor’…but this brother & sister team are just too gorgeous…I had to share.

Crazy Love…

I was only going to do a “Mine on Monday” post today…but then I changed my mind. I decided that since it is Valentine’s Day and I’m still playing “blog catch-up”, that I should probably blog about a wedding Today’s post is all about “crazy love”. Brian & Elizabeth decided to elope and get married in one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been…Savannah, GA. This was my first time in Savannah and I was so excited and honored that they asked me to join them there for their special day. The ceremony was held in the middle of Savannah…in a secluded garden. It was a small wedding with only close family members in attendance. It was a hot Friday afternoon and the sun shined brightly through the gigantic Oak Trees that canopied over the walkways. It was perfect…picture perfect…just like the love that they share.

Mine on Mondays…Sugar, Sugar, Sugar!

Today we let Carolyn attend her very 1st Valentine’s Day party. We normally don’t let her attend parties because of her food allergies. Carolyn is severely allergic to peanuts and eggs. Trying to find sweets with out eggs has been a difficult task…all cupcakes and most cookies contain eggs and while those things seem harmless…their like poison to our Carolyn. Since Gary and I were both off from work today, we were able to join her and keep an extra eye out for those “sneaky treats”. Don’t get me wrong, Carolyn’s daycare teachers do an excellent job of making sure she is not exposed to peanuts or eggs…but I know that accidents can happen…especially on “party days” when there is an overabundance of goodies and excited 3 year olds:) Needless to say…everything went great!!! Carolyn had so much fun!!! I feel very blessed to be able to capture moments like this of my children♥

Yummy…

I made Carolyn some “egg-free” cupcakes. They turned out pretty good and they were super easy to make. Just mix one box of store bought “cake mix” and add 12 oz of “soda”. I used Pillsbury Vanilla Cake Mix and added 12 ozs of Sierra Mist. That’s it…no oil, no eggs, no water. Not exactly sure how it works…but it did… and at the end of the day, they were all gone:)

Mine on Mondays…Lunch with Lori

This past weekend flew by…really, where did it go? We had a busy weekend but it was a “good busy”. The kind of busy where you were able to mark things off of your “to do” list AND you were able to spend time with family and friends And by the way…marking things off of my “to do” list is one of my most favorite things to do

On Saturday we had lunch with Lori (my sis-in-law) and her family. She has two daughters who both remind me so much of Carolyn. I actually think that Carolyn looks just like her Aunt Lori. Which is a wonderful thing considering that Lori is one of the most beautiful people I know – inside and out. We had a great time watching Carolyn & Emily play the Nintendo Wii. “Just Dance” was the game of choice…although according to Carolyn it should be named “Just Sing” because that’s what she does the whole time she plays…she sings.

And finally…Lindsay with their dog, Pickles. Carolyn thinks that Pickles is a Pony…she wanted to ride on his back so bad. Poor Pickles…but he was a good sport and let her love on him the whole time.
