Kasey & Brandon are getting married!

It was last October when Kasey approached me about being her wedding photographer.  I remember it vividly because, honestly, I was shocked.  She was wearing a bridesmaids’ dress -  we were at her “soon to be” sister-in-law’s wedding - where I was the photographer.  During the reception she told me “I want you to shoot my wedding - one day”, I replied “Are you serious?”, my assistant and awesome friend, Charnelle, interrupted and said, “she would love to be your wedding photographer”.  The truth is … my photography business was brand new and I couldn’t believe that someone wanted me to capture their wedding day.  I’m still blown away every time someone chooses me to be their photographer…whether it’s a family session, a brand new baby, or the day they become husband and wife…I’m always in awe of how God continues to bless me with the people HE sends my way.

Kasey and Brandon are such a sweet couple. They wanted to have their engagement pictures taken in St. Augustine, where Brandon proposed but I really wanted to shoot an engagement session in the famous flower field - so we did both :)

I’m SO GLAD they said yes to the flower field session.  They looked absolutely stunning and they were totally up for anything I asked them to do.

It was really hard for me to pick my favorites…here’s a few:

A few weeks later, we met in St. Augustine for another session.  We started off in the downtown area, then headed to the place where Brandon proposed…the beach :)

It had rained all day, the weather was yucky… hot, muggy, and overcast…but Kasey and Brandon still pulled it off and looked beautiful.

This was the exact location of the proposal.  Brandon was so sweet, all he wanted to do was hold her in his arms.

Congratulations Kasey & Brandon!  I’m ready to photograph your wedding in August…I can’t wait to see Kasey in her dress…WOWZA :)

You guys were so easy going and up for anything.  I had a great time getting to know you better and hearing your “love story”.  Thanks for letting me be a part of it ;)

Charnelle Whittemore - These are are probably some of the most STUNNING pictures you have ever taken! Wow! Great job once again. I can't wait until Kasey and Brandon's wedding. I know it will be amazing! And just for the record - I have NEVER been surprised that someone would ask YOU to be their wedding photographer :) You are fab! ~CharnelleJuly 7, 2009 - 8:27 am

Suzanne - Simply beautiful photos! Where was the flower spot? I was just curious what time at a beach is the best time for photographs? And do you use anything too help with lighting?November 12, 2009 - 7:30 pm

jennifer - Thank you, Suzanne! This flower field is located in Hampton. I like shooting at the beach right before sunset :) I did not use any artificial light during this session. I only use flash if it is absolutely necessary because I prefer natural light.:)November 13, 2009 - 6:29 am
