Waiting for Jack…

Emilie and Eric were expecting.  I say “were”, because baby Jack decided to arrive a few days early and he is already here.  Yes, he came before I could blog the maternity session.  Early bird gets the worm :)

This was my very first studio session and to be honest, I was completely nervous.  Amy, came by the studio before the session and helped me set things up, but then I was on my own and it felt like I had picked up the camera for the very first time all over again.  Eric and Emilie were patient and cooperative.  They put my mind at ease so I credit them for these great shots.  She is absolutely stunning on an every day basis but with child, she has a glow that nothing could fade.  This couple was such a pleasure to work with and I’m hoping to meet baby Jack very soon :)

After the studio session, we went to the famous flower field for a few shots.  Funny how all this worked out…I left the studio feeling overwhelmed and confused and arrived at the flower field feeling a sense of relief and safety.  You may remember my mental break down in blog post from last year.  Ironic that just a year ago the flower field was a place where I felt lost and wondered what I was even doing with a camera.  And today it is my comfort zone.  I’m not perfect at caputuring natural light, but the sun and I have a “working relationship”.  For the past year, the sun has been my “studio lights” and now I’m learning how to shoot with the real thing.  All I can say when I look at that field and I look at these pictures is….God is SO GOOD!  I know this story is minor in the eyes of many, but I’m amazed by how God put me in that field scared and a year later he brought me back there feeling safe.  Mmmmm…..all I can say is “Thank You”.

June 4, 2009 - 7:37 am Charnelle Whittemore - These are great! I love the 1st one with the blue background, and then of course the ones in the flower field...your safe haven :) I remember the flower field melt down like it was yesterday. Although......I look back to one of your 1st sessions in the flower field and they were great (of me!). So, I think you "had it" all along! :) Keep up the good work!........~Charnelle

June 2, 2009 - 12:52 pm J.R. - You brought me to tears with this one! Great Pictures as always!! God has brought you so far, can you even imagine what else He has in store for you?!!

June 2, 2009 - 12:04 pm He Keeps Me Singing - Love these images and love your testimony too. Your words hit very close to home in my own journey with my camera. Everytime I see you thanking God for the position you are in I think "The will of God won't lead us where the grace of God can't keep us." I know that our walks with the Lord are an ongoing process but you have "arrived" with that camera you are holding and I am excited to know that you will get even better than what I see as perfect already. Very nice work Jenn. PS-the flower field melt-down post will live in my heart forever and I said it way back then and I will say it again . . . thank you for being transparent. We bloggers are so guilty of sorting through the best of the best and presenting only what looks perfect and every so often we should remind others looking on that we have "real" moments too and for that I thank you again.
