Julian Alexander is an Athens based photographer at the University of Georgia. He is currently a second year student and is enrolled in the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communications, where he will be entering the photojournalism program under the leadership of Mark Johnson in the Fall.
Julian works as a contributing photographer for The Red & Black Newspaper, an independent student newspaper founded in Athens, Georgia in 1893. In addition to his work for the newspaper, Julian works with the special publications arm of The Red & Black and has had a number of photographs published in the Eat & Drink pamphlet, 2019 Athens Visitors Guide, and Ampersand Magazine. Earlier this year, Julian received second place in the Georgia Collegiate Press Association’s “Best Photo Essay” category for his work covering the University of Georgia equestrian team in collaboration with other photographers. Julian is also a shutterstock contributor.
